Frequent Asked Questions
When should one start planning an event?
Depending on the event you may need more time to plan the details. We suggest for weddings that you should begin the floral process 8 months to 1 year from the event date.
For a small corporate /social event, we suggest at least 2 to 3 months out. For larger galas, we suggest treating it like a wedding so 8 to 12 months out.
What is the first step?
Typically we suggest you send an email through our website. Check for availability first. After that, send initial event details so that we can start the dialogue via email.
Due to the pandemic, we no longer do face to face consultations. However, with technology, phone or zoom meetings replaces 1 to 1 consultations.
What should I expect at the Consultation?
During a phone/zoom consultation we will go through your vision board(or mood board) discuss wishes, likes, wants, review details, and focus on deliverables. Subsequent meetings may involve linens and rentals, indepth discussion on logistics, and budget analysis.
Prior to a consultation, you may ask for an estimation without a detailed written proposal. We are more than happy to give you a budget range.
When will I get a written proposal?
Once we have clear cut ideas of your wishes and what we can achieve and design, we can work on a proposal. Depending on the scope of the work, it does take 2 to 3 weeks to prepare in depth proposals.
What if I am planning a wedding from out of town?
This is a great question. Many of our clients do not live in the Bay Area. If that is the case, we can work via email. We want to make this process easy for you.
If I want to move forward, what should I do?
After receiving a proposal, please request a floral contract if you wish to secure the date. Simply sign a contract and send in a non- refundable retainer that will be applied to your final balance, and the date is now yours!
After the initial consultation and the contract is finalized, will we get a chance to visit the venue?
With our production fee, we include 1 to 2 meetings after the contract is signed. So if a venue site visit is important to you, that can be arranged. No problem.
Who will be there the day of the wedding to set up the flowers?
Our team is made up of experienced set up people who have been trained by Nancy Liu Chin.
Whether it is one of our designer or even our owner, Nancy Liu Chin, you will have an experienced team leader and team there to set up your flowers.
How many weddings or large events do you do per week?
We limit the amount of weddings and large events we do each year. Nancy selects a small amount of large events. Each project is personalized and unique so we limit the amount of events each year. Every year is different but it's typically 14.
Our goal is to do no more than one large event a week.
